Originally hailing from the Core nation of Yedagon, Alexandra chose the life of a mercenary to escape the stuffy confines of Core society. She made her living escorting caravans, eventually working her way out to the Border nations.
Stopping in Desia, Alexandra went to a popular tavern for some food and drink. When a nobleman and his guards entered the tavern, Alexandra poked fun at the man for ‘slumming with the commoners’. The noble was intrigued, and the two struck up a conversation.
As it turned out the noble in question was in fact King Lloyd Tarmenel of the Desian Throne. Somewhat taken aback by this discovery, Alexandra nevertheless jumped at his over of employment in Desia’s army. The two continued to meet and deepen their relationship, and within a year of that tavern meeting the pair were married and ‘Alex’ was crowned Queen.
Alexandra has had no end of fun with her now fellow nobles, scandalizing the sensitive ones with her mercenary past and her tendency to wear scale mail instead of silk. The King’s Own both loves her and is frustrated by her; her skills offer the king another layer of protection, and yet her independent spirit sometimes makes her hard to protect in turn. She has a tendency to skip out of the castle at times to play the part of a normal mercenary with foreigners and unwitting Desians, prompting her guards into a mad search to find her. Still, she always returns to her husband, her home, and her two children.
